Will my $1 donation allow access to the Pledge Manager?

Yes! It sure will. You’ll receive an email with the Pledge Manager info once the campaign is over so that you can upgrade your reward.

Is the game appropriate for everyone?

The content is, but the activity might not be – Bloomchasers can be challenging! There’s probably not an upper limit on age (it’ll be fun for adults even if tiny ears and eyes are around) but anyone under 10-12 might struggle with the logic puzzle aspect of the game.

What skills make you good at Bloomchasers?

We think anyone can be good at Bloomchasers, but you’ll do well if you’re good at spatial reasoning and pattern recognition. Add some cost/benefit analysis and a sprinkle of diplomacy and you’re a pro!

How many players is the game designed for?

The base game is for 1-4 players (yep, it comes with solitaire rules so you can play as a logic puzzle on your own!) and you can make it up to 6 players with the expansion pack.

Were any trees harmed in the making of this game?

Unfortunately, yes, but they died with honor and will be immortalized in the cards, box, and instructions in Bloomchasers. With your support, they will not have died in vain.

Do you ship outside the US?

Yes. Please see the shipping information on the campaign page. We’ll be using a pledge manager that will help manage shipping costs by country.

What is the tree made out of?

We continue to work with our manufacturing partner on this project to determine the specific material, but it will be a high-quality, durable plastic.

What are the flowers made out of?

See above.

Last updated: April 10, 2024 06:20

How many flowers are there?

We’ve included 9 flowers per player (36 flowers total), which is enough to cover the tree in whatever combination of colors you like no matter the size of your game!

How do the branches work?

The branches are designed with a tapered hexagonal cylinder at the base, which fits into the hole at the center of the hexagonal leaf-clump-things. This keeps your tree aligning to an invisible hexagonal grid even as the branches grow to multiple levels!

How did you decide how the weather works?

We tested countless combinations of different weather abilities, trying to find that perfect balance of flavor, simplicity, and strategic nuance.

What determines what branch I play each turn?

We used to roll a die, but figured out a way to simply draw them from a bag! There were originally 6 different branch shapes, which we pared down to 4. The branches that got trimmed were the most likely to tangle up with others, but also happened to be the least fun to draw on your turn. One of those rare elegant fixes that makes designing games so satisfying!

How long is each turn?

A turn can go anywhere from 30 to 90 seconds. When a Bloom card is drawn, turns can go a bit longer, but that’s because each player gets a chance to play flowers. SOME players (Evan!) think things through more carefully than others and can take a bit longer. Still, the tree itself is so fascinating to watch, and develops so many fun nooks and crannies, you’ll often find it’s your turn again before you know it!

When does the game end?

When the branches have all been played, players get one last chance to play flowers. After that, the flowers on the tree are counted up, and the weather cards are counted too. Whoever’s flowers were worth the most points wins!

When and how will you fulfill kickstarter orders?

Like Ransom Notes and Abducktion, we have a Kickstarter fulfillment partner in place. Once (and if) we reach our goal, we’ll place an initial order with our manufacturing partner — who already has the game artwork ready to print. We expect our Kickstarter backers to be chasing blooms by January at the latest.

Last updated: April 10, 2024 06:20

What do you plan to do with your kickstarter earnings?

Our first priority will be to fulfill our Kickstarter orders. After that, we hope to turn Bloomchasers into a real business and will spend Kickstarter earnings on game inventory and marketing.

Do you ship internationally?

After high demand, we have opened the Kickstarter to international shipping in the Canada, EU/UK, and NZ/AU! For details, scroll down on the main Kickstarter page to the “International Shipping” section. Shipping will have variable costs based on the rates in your country and will be handled in the pledge manager.

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
